Many of the characters are a part of a group called the elementals and emotionals. This group are people that have been chosen over all others in the world to be born with special powers. The power they are born with matches their personality, and often influences their personality and how they behave. However, these powers cannot be controlled until they are awakened, often during a time of stress or danger -- though there have been exceptions of unawakened powers showing through. The group are all bonded together by a mysterious force controlled by God. Often this has drawn them to move near each other, but this isn't always the case. This bond does not mean that they will necessarily be close in an intrapersonal level, but if needed, they will always support others in the group. There have also been times when the bond has been temporarily broken, but this is never permanent. However, as a rule, most members of the group do enjoy a close bond. There are also many instances of those in the group being bonded to those outside of the group (generally romantically), which comes down to the fact that much of their lives is controlled by God (or the person typing this). Many things happen with the intention of setting important things in motion, and this includes temporary deaths, family separations, and the ending of relationships. God also has the ability to withhold knowledge from members of the group, generally to stop one from discovering their connection to another group member before the planned time (or for me to retcon shit). One of the biggest shared experiences of the group are the frequent occurrence of hardships and tragedy, which are tests to hone their bodies and mind (or their creator's extreme arousal over torturing her chars). Most of them are more adept at handling such things than the average person, but they still do suffer trauma, soley for their creator to drone over so everyone can pity im.
