Nadia Hassan (birth name Nasrin Hassan) is Yael Valaine's older sister and Peter's fiance, born in 1975. She was born into a strict Egyptian Muslim family along with her younger sister Yael (then Aisha) and older sister Jali. She underwent FGM at age 5, and was married off to a much older man by the time she was 14. Her husband was a doctor and very respected in his community, but at home he was an abusive pile of garbage that regularly raped and physically abused her. In 1995, she met Peter while he was on a missionary trip and she had run away from her husband. While Peter helped her get back on her feet, the two fell in love, but were forced to hide their relationship. When Nadia became pregnant, the two began to make plans to leave Egypt and move to Peter's native England. Before this happened, her husband and his family discovered her location, and Nadia was killed in a brutal honor killing.
Nadia came back soon after, and continued to learn English, as Peter had begun to teach her, in order to feel connected to him. She searched for him through the years, but eventually convinced herself that he had been a figment of her imagination due to her unhappiness. During her marriage, she suffered two more child losses, both due to FGM complications. In 2021, she reunited with her sister by chance, and she left her husband again and went into hiding with Yael and her family. She soon learned that her family knew Peter, and the two reunited. Then her baby vroomed back in her womb in some spiritual thing because accuracy is pointless.
Adam Luca Smallwood is Peter and Nadia's son, born in April 2022.
